How to make an AI-written About page sound human
Paste it in below — the rewriter is already set to “About page”, so it rewrites for the person who actually reads one. Then keep scrolling for the specific thing that gives an About page away, and a before-and-after.

Why it reads differently
Read it before you send it. Your name is on this, so fix anything that is not true of you and put back the one specific detail only you know.
The thing that gives an About page away
Founding-myth language. “Founded on a passion for innovation, we set out on a mission to revolutionise the way people…” — a story with no year, no place and no person in it.
It is worth being precise about this, because “sounds like AI” is not one problem. Every kind of writing has its own tell, and for an About page it is the one above. Once you can see it in your own draft you will start catching it before you paste anything anywhere.
Before and after
Written by hand, not generated — a realistic AI-sounding draft and the same thing as a person would write it.
Reads like AI
Founded on a passion for innovation and a relentless commitment to excellence, we set out on a mission to revolutionise the way people experience the world around them.
Reads like a person
We’re two people in Leeds. I ran kitchens for nine years and got tired of rota day; Priya writes the code. We’ve been going since 2023 and about 300 restaurants use it. There’s no support team — it’s us, usually within a day.
Notice what actually changed: the sentence lengths stopped matching, the stock phrasing went, and the specific detail moved to the front. Nothing was added that a real writer would not have known.
Who reads an About page, and what they notice
Someone deciding whether to trust you, often right before they buy. They want to know who you are and how many of you there are.
This is the whole reason the rewrite has to change with the text type. Copy that has to survive a three-second glance. Adjectives are what AI reaches for and facts are what readers act on, so this is where the rewrite pays fastest.
How to fix it yourself, without any tool
Worth knowing, because the point is to stop needing a rewriter. Four passes, five minutes:
- Delete the first sentence. In most AI drafts it is setup. Start at the second sentence and see whether you lost anything — usually you did not.
- Break the rhythm. Find three sentences of similar length in a row and cut one of them in half. That single change does more than any word swap.
- Put in one plain word. Formal writing with a single ordinary word in it reads as human; flawless register reads as generated.
- Add the detail only you have. The number, the name, the thing that happened. This is the part no rewriter can do for you, and it is the part that works.

MonkeyPen rewrites the words you give it and keeps every fact intact — it does not research, verify or invent detail, and it is not a substitute for reading your own draft before you send it. It is a writing tool, not a guarantee about how anyone will react to your About page.
