How to make an AI-written support reply sound human

Paste it in below — the rewriter is already set to “support reply”, so it rewrites for the person who actually reads one. Then keep scrolling for the specific thing that gives a support reply away, and a before-and-after.

The thing that gives a support reply away

Empathy boilerplate before the answer. “Thank you for reaching out, I completely understand how frustrating this must be, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention” is three sentences before anything useful.

It is worth being precise about this, because “sounds like AI” is not one problem. Every kind of writing has its own tell, and for a support reply it is the one above. Once you can see it in your own draft you will start catching it before you paste anything anywhere.

Before and after

Written by hand, not generated — a realistic AI-sounding draft and the same thing as a person would write it.

Reads like AI

Thank you so much for reaching out to us. I completely understand how frustrating this situation must be for you, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention.

Reads like a person

Settings → Account → Export, then tick “Include archived”. That checkbox is the easy one to miss, and it’s why your file came out short. Sorry for the runaround — I’ve asked the team to move it somewhere obvious.

Notice what actually changed: the sentence lengths stopped matching, the stock phrasing went, and the specific detail moved to the front. Nothing was added that a real writer would not have known.

Who reads a support reply, and what they notice

Someone stuck, who wants the fix in the first line. Warmth after the answer reads as kind; warmth before it reads as stalling.

This is the whole reason the rewrite has to change with the text type. Replies to people who are already annoyed. Template empathy reads as stalling; a plain answer first and warmth second reads as a person who is actually helping.

How to fix it yourself, without any tool

Worth knowing, because the point is to stop needing a rewriter. Four passes, five minutes:

  1. Delete the first sentence. In most AI drafts it is setup. Start at the second sentence and see whether you lost anything — usually you did not.
  2. Break the rhythm. Find three sentences of similar length in a row and cut one of them in half. That single change does more than any word swap.
  3. Put in one plain word. Formal writing with a single ordinary word in it reads as human; flawless register reads as generated.
  4. Add the detail only you have. The number, the name, the thing that happened. This is the part no rewriter can do for you, and it is the part that works.

MonkeyPen rewrites the words you give it and keeps every fact intact — it does not research, verify or invent detail, and it is not a substitute for reading your own draft before you send it. It is a writing tool, not a guarantee about how anyone will react to your support reply.
